• While you're getting settled: If you don't have children, why does our education system matter?
• Logistics (Nameplates, Pictures, etc).
• Survey feedback
• Small groups: What do we want to learn about American Public Education?
  • Decide on a discussion leader, a recorder, and a presenter.
  • Share reactions to Ravitch essay.
  • Identify what you know, what you don't quite understand, what you're skeptical about, etc.
  • Record your group's ideas, including possible driving questions.
• Whole class: Share Driving Questions

Homework

• Read Hope in the Unseen, pp. 1-39
• Write a 2-3 page description of an area of personal expertise. (Not due until Wednesday)
